Analysis Of Multifunctional Pigment Dispersant

Multifunctional pigment dispersant is also called macromolecule dispersant. Dispersants are defined as substances in which dispersants can reduce the aggregation of solid or liquid particles in a dispersion system. It is easy to form dispersions and suspensions by adding dispersants and suspensions in the preparation of emulsifiable and wettable powders, and maintain the relatively stable function of the dispersions.

 

Molecules contain polymers with molecular weights ranging from 1000 to 1000. It can be tightly and firmly bonded to the surface of pigment particles to achieve high efficiency coverage with a thickness of about 10 microns. The solvation part of it can be effectively extended to disperse media to form a three-dimensional barrier and provide a three-dimensional stable barrier. There are different types of products. Among them, block type polymer dispersant has excellent effect, namely A-B block type. It has: an anchor base adsorbed or bonded to the surface of the pigment; a solvation part with good compatibility with the film-forming substance.

Advantages of polymer dispersants. It has good water solubility and can be completely dissolved in cold water. Adding a small amount of cationic polyacrylamide products can get great flocculation effect. Generally, only 0.01-10 ppm (0.01-10 g/m3) is added to make full use of it. At the same time, the use of cationic polyacrylamide products and inorganic flocculants (polyferric sulfate, polyaluminium chloride, ferric salts, etc.) can show greater effect.
