Acidic dyes are mostly aromatic sulfonic acid sodium salts in structure, and their chromophore structure has a large proportion of azo and quinone. The leveling and wet handling fastness of acid dyes varies with the structure of the dye. According to the dyeing function of dyes on wool, acid dyes can be divided into three types of acid dyes: strong acid bath, weak acid bath and neutral bath dyeing.

The dyeing of acid dyes on wool, silk, and nylon is relatively good, but the wet fastness is not the same. Under normal circumstances, the level dyeing of dyed nylon is poor, while the wet fastness is better; the leveling of dyed silk is better, but the wet fastness is inferior to that of wool. In production, acid dyes dyed with strong acid baths are used primarily for dyeing wool, while acid dyes dyed with weak acid baths and neutral baths can be used for the dyeing of silk and nylon in addition to dyed wool.


1. C.I Acid Red 419 is an azo-type acid dye of Ciba Company. It was produced by the original American C&K Company. This dye has no published structure. The product was tracked by HPLC in the process of composition, so the accidental liquid purity was greater than 90%, the purity of the original dye was up to 98%, and the wastewater COD was less than 1000 ppm. The pH is neutral, indicating that its constituent skills are relatively old.


2. Cigaret Red 2GL (C.I Acid Red 211) is a 1:2 metal complex dye, which is equivalent to Ciba Irgalan Red 2GL.
